Stunning Lake Front New Build

Situated on a large lake front lot, these clients knew exactly what they wanted. A functional, energy efficient home that allows them to relax after a hard day of work on their land. With horses, stables and work areas, it was important the home is well situated and takes advantage of the sun and all of the views the property has to offer.

This 2 bedroom plus office house is going to be built out of Passive House Panels and will incorporate large overhands on the west to protect the house from overheating in the summer. There will be a outdoor screened porch area for entertaining outside in the summer months and it will also add to the solar gains in the winter. A hot water roof solar system will be installed on the south facing roof and their gutters will act as a rain water harvesting system.

The house design required the home to be raised 9′ due to the lake proximity and possibility of flooding. The space created under the house will then be used for storage and a portion for an enclosed basement that will serve as a cold room.
